RAF Typhoon jets have conducted a mission with France's air force in a coordinated attack against an hidden munitions depot in Syria employed by the IS group, per a report from the UK's MoD.
The facility, located using intelligence, was thought to be housing weapons and explosive materials, the release indicated, and was situated in hills just to the north of the historic site of Palmyra in central Syria.
"Our aircraft used Paveway IV guided bombs to target a series of access tunnels leading to the site... initial indications suggest the target was engaged successfully," the MoD said.
There was no sign of any civilian impact in the attack late on Saturday and all the aircraft returned safely, the MoD added.
The Typhoon fighters were supported by a Voyager refuelling tanker.
