Thousands Left Without Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the state, generating strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Broad Damage
Residents witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, around 1,000 households in Victoria also encountered energy failures after Melbourne experienced its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham region - nearly 180 help reports
At one point on yesterday, in excess of 28k energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This alert comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the area.
